Poros is the name of the village and by that, the name of the whole area where Rouda Bay Hotel is located. As you can easily quest the name of the whole bay is…. Rouda! 2 points for you! Finally the name of the beach, in front of the hotel, is Mikros Gialos.

Poros is located in the north-east side of Lefkada, on the middle of the part which is mainly inhabited (the east), and the wild one where the most beautiful beaches are located (the west).

In modern history, Poros were well known throughout the region of Epirus and Ionian for the knives it manufactured (the famous porsanika knives), but unfortunately the art has disappeared. Samples of these knives can be found in the folklore museum of Lefkada. Finally worth visiting is the small chapel of the Ascension with beautiful Byzantine frescoes from the 16th century.

Today Poros is a small village of 230 inhabitants which is based on αν agricultural economy and the tourism. Great asset of ours is the beautiful beach of Mikros Gialos, with its crystal clear turquoise waters. That gave the chance to the region to be developed in a quiet holiday resort. The bay of Mikros Gialos is separated in two areas, a small harbor and the beach. In the picturesque harbor you will find taverns and cafeterias, restaurants, bars, shop and hotels. Another big advantage of the region is the fact that while attracting many tourists because of beauty by the afternoon maintains a quieter atmosphere. For those who want to combine entertainment with the calm, just 15 minutes by car are the two of the most touristic places of Lefkada Island, Nidri and Vasiliki.
